There are many schools of thought about BBQ, there are marinades, dry rubs and wet mops.  This is a recipe BBQ Mopfor what I consider the best wet mop.  I've used it on pork shoulder, butt, ribs, chicken  and beef brisket.   It keeps the meat very moist and tasty.

  Amount       Measure       Ingredient -- Preparation Method

       1              quarts          water
       2           tablespoons   brown sugar
       2           tablespoons   black pepper
     1/4              cup             butter
     1/2              cup             vinegar
       2           tablespoons   salt
     1/4             cup               Worcestershire sauce
     1/2             cup               onion
       2           teaspoons      dry mustard
    1 1/3       tablespoons   chili powder
      1            tablespoon    Tabasco sauce
      2             cloves           garlic

Bring all ingredients to a boil.  Simmer 15 minutes.  Cool.

Use as baste for chicken, ribs, pork, etc.
