Everywhere I go I run into people who were Hizzoner's customers.   Invariably they tell me how much they miss the food, the people and the good feelings they had.  Many have asked for recipes or suggested that I do a cookbook.   So, I decided to do the best of both, hence this website.  Here you will find all the things you loved most about Hizzoner's and some of my favorites too.  Come, taste and remember.

Hot appetizers are always my favorites and this one is rich and luscious.    Depending on your budget, you can Crostini con Langostinosubstitute crab or even surimi for the lobster in this recipe.  It would even work well with shrimp or any seafood.  Make a lot, because they won't last long.

1 cup chopped fresh lobster meat
1/2 cup shredded fresh mozzarella
1/3 cup tomato strips packed with fresh basil
2 tablespoons melted butter
2 tablespoons minced fresh basil
2 teaspoons minced fresh garlic
16 pieces of Italian or French bread sliced into 3/8" thick rounds

Mix lobster, cheese, tomatoes, butter, basil and garlic together.  Generously spread on to bread slices.  Put on ungreased baking sheet and bake at 400ยบ for 8-10 minutes till the bread slices are hot and crispy.

Serve immediately.
